Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi

After 1500 the church was rebuilt. According to tradition was the same Francis indicating the place where he wanted to be buried. Santa Maria degli Angeli was, in the Middle Ages, the "lookout" of Assisi in the war against Perugia to conquer new lands (including the country of Bastia Umbra) and for the supremacy of the valley.
